Most people think memecoin hype starts on X, but after watching hundreds of launches I’m convinced it usually begins much earlier — inside Telegram call groups. X is full of bought engagement, recycled posts and noise that’s easy to manipulate. By the time something looks “viral” there, the real momentum has already been building somewhere else.
What actually moves first are the small and mid-sized Telegram call communities. When a coin gets mentioned once, it means nothing — but when it starts appearing in several groups within a short timeframe, that’s when early hype really starts forming. These groups react faster than charts, faster than influencers, and much faster than X. That early spread of attention is the closest thing to a real signal in this space.
Because of that I started focusing more on call momentum than on charts or social media. Tools like Outlight fun make it much easier to see how many groups mentioned a coin and how quickly that number grows, and honestly this has been a much more reliable way to spot early plays. It’s a simple idea, but tracking where hype begins — not where it ends — has changed the way I look for memecoins.
