The flashy new Layer2 coming to Litecoin, is shaping up to be a big step in the right direction. In short, their mission is to bring Web3 and defi to the Litecoin ecosystem, in order to keep it up to date and competitively viable.
Why is this important
Well for a start, Litecoin is starting to fall behind. Many people regard it as “just” a payment method, which is why modernisation is so crucial. If all people see is a reliable payment method, then there isn’t much room for innovation and without innovation, projects inevitably die out.
Why is this a high conviction play
Litecoin is, like I said before, regarded as a reliable payment method. This is reflected in the fact that it is the most used currency on BitPay. This makes it a great foundation. Added to this, LitVM will bring innovation to the ecosystem that has never been seen before and will open it up to the rest of the Blockchain world. This could easily boost LTC back to the top ten.
