Valour is an open source community chat platform that has been developed for three years by a volunteer team. To embrace privacy, community, and to prevent meddling by money-hungry investors, we want to let the community fund us and have a stake in the future of the platform by creating a token. The platform is rough around the edges, but we’re focused on cutting edge features. Valour has a full windowing system, chart rendering in chat, components almost entirely built in-house, and uses a unique tech stack.
The team:
I’m personally doxxed (youtuber @ SpikeViper) and have a rich history in development, specifically in fintech. I ran an amazing community on Discord which led to my eventual realization of how bad that platform’s administration is, and as such decided to build my own platform which doesn’t sell your data or sell out to investors.
We have five additional in-person volunteers who come into my garage-turned-office twice a week for development, and remote developers as well! I have personally invested three years into the project which you can see at https://github.com/Valour-Software/Valour
