What Differentiates Gambling from Investing?

Gambling involves risking money on the future promise of profit purely through luck. You have no reliable information or knowledge about the outcome of the event. Essentially, you’re leaving your fate in the hands of chance—whether you call it God, destiny, or the universe depends on your belief system. One thing is certain: you cannot control your profits if you gamble.

Investing, on the other hand, involves risking money on the future promise of profit by speculating based on known information in the present.

My theory and method for making money with memecoins in 2025 is about turning gambling into investing.

So, how can we achieve that? What separates gambling from investing?

The answer: Information.

Can we access present information that indicates future events in the memecoin market?

Many believe the answer is yes. Enter Murad Mahmudov, widely regarded as the father of the “memecoin supercycle” theory.

According to Mahmudov, the crypto market follows a four-year cycle driven by each Bitcoin halving. This cycle consistently includes the following phases:

1. Bitcoin Bull Market: Bitcoin reaches a new all-time high (ATH).
2. Altcoin Bull Market: Altcoins reach new ATHs.
3. Memecoin Bull Market: Memecoins reach new ATHs.

This pattern occurred eight years ago, four years ago, and, according to Murad’s theory, it will happen again in this cycle.

For example, look at the 2020–2021 bull run. Ethereum experienced clear price pumps driven by the memecoin craze on its chain.

The upcoming 2024-2025 memecoin supercycle

Crypto cycles follow a consistent pattern. They always have, starting from the very first one. Patterns mean information, information means predictability, and predictability means you can turn gambling into investing.

The names, labels, and chains may evolve—four years ago, it was Ethereum; today, it’s Ethereum, Solana, and a few others. But this doesn’t change the big picture.

What truly matters is selecting a few coins that meet the following criteria:

• Thriving Community: Look for active social media and chat rooms. Dive deep into these communities—are they engaged? Are friendships being formed? Is there relentless activity on social media?
• Survived a Rugpull: This is crucial. A rugpull indicates a whale has sold, and weak-handed whales (and holders in general) must be shaken out. Remember, you’ll need to hold your portfolio for a year.
• Established Presence: The coin should be at least a few weeks old, preferably a few months. Avoid baby coins—they’re pure gambling. We’re here to invest, not gamble.

My current portfolio for the 2025 memecoin supercycle includes a mix of popular memecoins, but I believe I’ve found a hidden gem: Snake with Hat ($SSSSS). It meets all the criteria above, and I’m fully loaded.
