My wallet got drained: A Cautionary Tale

Hey everyone,

I want to share my story to warn others about the dangers in crypto and investing, especially on platforms like Nova.

For over a year, I worked tirelessly to save up. I faced countless losses and setbacks, but I never let my mind slip from my goal, I wanted to buy a home for my ill mother, somewhere she could feel comfortable and secure. After all the hard work, I finally started to see some light at the end of the tunnel. I was just a few small investments away from being able to bring this huge surprise to reality.

But then, everything came crashing down. I had been using Nova for some time, and despite my research and super cautious ways of trading, I fell victim to a scam. I still haven’t figured out how but my wallet got zeroed overnight. Keep in mind that I have been in the trenches for a few years now and am well aware of all the do’s & dont’s, regardless of my efforts all my savings, everything I had worked for, was gone in an instant.

The emotional toll has been devastating. I felt like I had something truly special within reach, only for it to be snatched away just before I could grasp it. My visions of a better life for my mother are now shattered, and it’s hard to find the motivation to continue.

If I can share one lesson from this tragedy, it’s to be incredibly cautious when investing, as you can see these people don’t care about your struggle or how hard you have worked for your bags. Make sure to double-check URLs, keep your passkeys physical and not on your devices and enable two-factor authentication wherever possible. There are risks that many of you won’t fully understand until it’s too late.

I’m still in shock and trying to find a way to move forward, but I hope by sharing my story, I can help someone else avoid the same bullshit. Stay safe out there, everyone.
