How to use Self-custody correctly?

I saw many wallets and tools promoting self-custody as a solution for freedom, but it’s great to learn about how to use it correctly. Here are 6 mandatory steps:

1: Generate your seed offline, which means you should not be connected to the internet.

2: Use a hardware wallet, import your seed, and use a strong PIN.

3: Write your seed on highly secure material that’s resistant to fire, water, and everything that may damage it. Ledger has great metal storage materials.

4: Use a hot wallet and send only the amount needed to your browser wallet extension using official software, or Ledger, for example, use Ledger Live.

5: Stay safe by keeping your seed phrase private, never sharing it online, and being cautious of phishing attempts and fake websites.
6: If you receive suspected scam tokens, we recommend burning them via Phantom’s official dApp: https://phantom.com/apps/claimyoursols. After burning, it will also close empty accounts; closing an account will return to you 0.00204 SOL for each account closed/burned.
