Most memes die fast, but every cycle there are a few that go 50x, 100x or more. Instead of aping blindly, I’ve started using a simple framework to filter projects. First thing I look at is community, if the Telegram, Discord, or X engagement looks organic with people actually making memes and raiding, it’s worth watching. If it feels botted or dead, I move on. One good example from this cycle is Bonk ($BONK) on Solana, it exploded because the community was loud, creative, and kept pushing content until it hit critical mass.
Next is safety checks: liquidity must be locked, contracts clean, and token distribution not dominated by one whale. I also scan holders to see if big wallets are dumping. These basics don’t guarantee success, but they help avoid obvious rugs.
After that I look for a growth engine beyond hype. The strongest memes aren’t just buy and pray, they give people a reason to stay active, whether that’s raiding competitions, XP systems, lotteries, or mini games. Anything that keeps the community engaged daily makes the token more than just a ticker.
Finally, timing is everything. Even the best meme won’t move in dead markets. I try to enter when sentiment is risk on, or when there’s a catalyst like a CEX listing or viral push. At the same time, I manage risk, take profits on the way up and never bet more than I’m willing to lose. That way, even if nine out of ten go nowhere, one solid moonshot can still make the strategy worth it.
