Finally ditched MM after finding a cheaper alternative

Lately I’ve been reflecting on how much I’ve spent on gas and swap fees over the years. It’s wild how those tiny percentages stack up, especially for people who’ve been active in DeFi since the early days. I started using Metamask back in 2020 when it was basically the wallet everyone used, simple, reliable, and honestly kind of nostalgic now. But after a few years, I realized I’d gotten too comfortable sticking to the same tools even when better options started showing up.

I’ve been loyal to Metamask since 2020, but I got sick of seeing ~1% swap fee every time I do anything. I tested Alicebob wallet last month just for fun. First swap was 0.5% fee – thought it was a promo or something but nope, that’s their actual rate. Honestly that was enough to convince me to move most of my activity there. Still have metamask for some random dapps, but for daily swaps alicebob is my new home.

Not trying to shill or anything just surprised at how much of a difference a smaller fee can make when you’re swapping often. The interface feels smoother, and the transactions seem to go through faster too. Yk it’s nice see competition pushing wallets to improve, if anyone else has tried Alicebob or found other wallets worth checking out, I’d love to hear your experiences. Always curious what other people in the space are using these days.
