Can meme coins succeed if they actually have real utility?

I’ve been following the Solana meme coin space for a while, and one thing I keep thinking about is utility. Most meme coins are just for fun and hype, but what if one actually tried to become a usable payment method?

For example, I’ve seen projects experimenting with limited supply coins and QR-based payments for shops. Do you think that kind of approach could make a meme coin last longer, or will meme coins always just stay hype-driven?
