If you are using Photon on Solana for small swaps such as 0.05 SOL or less, it helps to take a moment and open the Advanced Settings (dropdown menu) before you confirm your order. Right before the transaction executes, you will see a dropdown that lets you adjust slippage, priority fee, and bribery fee. The default values tend to be surprisingly high, with priority often near 0.008 SOL and bribery around 0.012 SOL. That adds up to more than 0.02 SOL in extra cost, which is significant for a small swap. You can lower these numbers without much trouble. If you are not in a hurry and simply want to avoid unnecessary fees, try reducing bribery to about 0.0001 SOL and priority to about 0.001 SOL. Transactions usually still clear unless the network is heavily congested.
