Hi everyone,
I’m currently working on launching my first crypto/meme project. The basics are in place (narrative, socials, website, etc.), but I’m new to Telegram and not very comfortable running a group there.
Because of that, I let some people I met on X help me manage the Telegram community and gave them admin rights. From the start, I’ve been cautious and never shared too much info, but I can’t shake the feeling that something isn’t right.
- Despite having ~60 members, it’s always the same small group chatting, which feels unusual.
- On X, most of the followers seem to be connected, almost like one person is running multiple accounts.
- During an AMA we hosted, the admins, the host, and even the speakers all sounded strangely similar — same voices, same accents, same background noise. One admin who is usually very fluent barely managed to say a sentence.
It could be a coincidence, but to me it felt like they were all in the same place, possibly just one group of people running everything.
I’ve already put some money into the project and I want to do things seriously. My fear is that if I keep moving forward with these people, I might get scammed or the whole thing could collapse because of bad intentions.
👉 My main question: How can I build a real, trustworthy community with legit people who want to see a project succeed long-term? yes everyone wants to make money myself included, but I don’t want to surround myself with fake accounts or people who could rug.
Any advice on spotting red flags, finding genuine collaborators, or building trust and transparency from scratch would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks ❤️
