BitcoinFi is heating up: $LIGHT just listed on Bitget

Over the past year, I’ve been paying attention to how narratives evolve in crypto. First it was DeFi Summer, then NFTs, later GameFi, and more recently Bitcoin ETFs. Now, the spotlight seems to be shifting towards BitcoinFi projects that aim to bring programmability and DeFi-like capabilities directly to Bitcoin itself.

That’s why the recent listing of Bitlight Labs ($LIGHT) on Bitget caught my eye. Unlike many projects that just spin hype around “Bitcoin layer 2,” this team is working on something tangible: integrating the RGB protocol (client-side validation for scalable, private smart contracts) with the Lightning Network. In practice, this could enable stablecoin payments on Bitcoin that feel as smooth as sending BTC itself. No bridges, no sidechains, just native Bitcoin security.

What stands out is the fundamentals:

• Current valuation is only $170M, which feels undervalued for a BitcoinFi infra project.
• The supply is capped at 420M tokens.
• They’ve already shipped the Bitlight Wallet, which supports both BTC and RGB20 tokens.

Now that $LIGHT is live on Bitget (LIGHT/USDT), I’m curious to see how traders price it. October and November have historically been strong months for altcoins, and BitcoinFi might just ride that wave. Personally, I see this as one of the more credible experiments in the sector, but the market will decide if it’s the real deal or just another passing trend.
