Are Quiet Listings Hinting at a Shift in the Market?

I’ve been paying more attention to how new token listings are performing lately. Not because I think we’re deep into an altseason (we’re clearly not), but because sometimes, the earliest signals show up when nobody’s really looking.

Came across a post by Crypto Rover, who tracked 17 new tokens listed on an exchange (Bitget) this July. Surprisingly, the results weren’t the usual rug-pull graveyard you’d expect:

• One token pulled off a 10x
• Six others did 3x or more
• And the average return across all listings was about 2x, even after accounting for the losses

Now, that might not sound crazy, but in this sideways, low-volume market, a 2x average return on new listings is kind of wild. Especially when most retail is still sitting on the sidelines.

The thing is, these aren’t tokens getting massive media push or hyped-to-death presales. They’re mostly quiet listings, and yet, the risk-reward profile looks a lot healthier than usual. It’s got me thinking: could this be the first real sign that capital is slowly rotating into small caps again?

I know altseason is one of the most overused words in crypto, but historically, small-cap runs and listing outperformance tend to precede bigger market momentum. It doesn’t mean we’re there yet, but this kind of data at least makes me look twice.

I’m not holding any of the tokens mentioned (for the record: $C, $ANI, $ICNT), and this isn’t some backdoor shill. Just curious if others are noticing the same thing, especially across centralised exchanges, or even DEX-based launches.

So my question is this:
Is this just short-term exchange hype? Or are early signs of altseason hiding in plain sight?
