Is Nostradamus the pumpfun of predictions? Here’s how the custom system actually works

There has been a lot of talk recently about Nostradamus being the “pump.fun of predictions” on Solana. At first, I thought it was just another meme comparison, but the more I looked into it, the more it started to make sense. The similarities are there, but Nostradamus takes things a step further by letting you trade predictions as tokens and giving the community the power to shape what predictions go live.

Let me break down how the custom prediction system actually works.

The Basics

On Nostradamus, users will soon be able to create their own predictions. These predictions will go live as tradable tokens. Think of it like launching a meme coin, but instead of it being about an animal or a trend, the token represents the outcome of a real-world event. For example, “Will the Fed cut rates next month?” or “Will this public figure do X before a certain date?”

Now here is the interesting part — predictions do not go live immediately. There is an approval curve that needs to be reached first, which is where the system starts to resemble the bonding curve on pump.fun.

The Approval Curve

To submit a prediction, the creator adds initial liquidity. This is the first contribution toward the approval curve. Then, other users can review the prediction and contribute more liquidity if they believe it will gain traction. If the total liquidity crosses the threshold, the prediction is approved and goes live on the platform as a tradable outcome.

Those who added liquidity early get a share of the future volume fees if the prediction performs well. If the prediction does not get approved, contributors get their liquidity back, minus a small fee. This prevents spam and encourages realistic, high-quality predictions.

This setup makes sure that predictions are:

• Backed by interest from the community

• Properly reviewed before going live

It is a powerful way to filter noise and reward foresight.
