Is it even worth it to use a “pump bot” for newer tokens?

I’m helping some people with work on a new Solana-based token and I have to know if it’s even worth investing in pump bots. The ones people get for initial volume and attention.

I wouldn’t normally trust them and even ask about it, esp if you use something like this long-term, but I see people brag about it (some time after the fact) and paint it as kind of “harmless”. If it works and everyone’s happy, why does it matter how it started?

Anyway, if all you’re doing is creating a fake growth without actually bringing in real investors or building anything, it’s bad, but I still want to know if it even works as intended. I looked at this one as an example – https://solana-volume.com. I could take others if you know more.
