How Tagger ($TAG) is Powering the Next Phase of AI Data Infrastructure

What if you could own the data you help create, and get paid for it? Most of us create data every day, yet only a handful of companies benefit from it. The AI boom is real, and we upload photos, speak to voice assistants, tag content, write text, and all of it becomes fuel for machine learning, but all that data is locked in the hands of a few companies. You create the value, while someone else reaps the rewards.

This is the problem Tagger is trying to address. Instead of massive corporations hoarding training data, Tagger is building a decentralized platform where anyone can: Collect or contribute data (image, voice, text, video), Annotate or label it for machine learning, Organise it into usable, structured formats, and eventually trade it permissionlessly. No login walls. No central gatekeepers. Just individuals and communities building datasets and being able to own or monetise their contribution. Think of it like a crowdsourced data infrastructure layer for AI.

The tech stack supports both structured and unstructured data. It’s designed to work across borders and allow collaboration in a way that’s been locked behind APIs and NDAs until now. TAG is now listed on exchanges like Bitget and others, which would act as the native utility token in this data economy, used for rewarding contributions, trading data access, and more.

Personally, what I find interesting is whether a decentralized model like this can realistically challenge how data for AI is currently sourced.
