No joy in my first 6 months. Will it get better?

I invested $1000 in a variety of coins. Some stable like xrp and some riskier like pepe etc. Everyday I check my balance and almost everyday it’s down. I think there was one week of it going up, but usually it’s down. Is this normal? Where are the incredible 350,000% gains that all youtubers talk about? When will xrp go to $10,000? It’s quite a sobering negative experience that I wish I hadn’t started. Oh, and my balance is $350 out of $1000. I also put $100 into axiom but every coin there gets rugged or liquidity pulled. Is there any light in this dark tunnel?
